Putting ECA at
the Heart of Decisions

The Putting ECA at the Heart of Decisions work stream aims at implementing the most appropriate strategies for engaging with stakeholders to continue to solidify the position of clubs at the heart of decision-making in football.

During trying times, collaboration and joint leadership from ECA and key stakeholders, notably FIFA, UEFA, the World Leagues Forum, European Leagues and FIFPRO, was critical.

We continued to cooperate with FIFA via the FIFA Transfer System Task Force, which had been mandated by the FIFA Stakeholders Committee to conduct a review and propose reforms to the transfer system rules. Transfers of professional football players are at the core of our clubs’ activities and we ensured that clubs’ interests and concerns are accounted for when reforms are considered.

At UEFA level, we continued to cooperate across a wide range of matters and via our representation in several committees and bodies, as well as consulting on the future of UCC post-2024 and securing commercial success through the UEFA Club Competitions SA (UCC SA) joint venture.
